The Process of Scalp Micropigmentation in Miami

Process of Scalp Micropigmentation in Miami

Scalp micropigmentation is a form of cosmetic tattooing, and there are many similarities to traditional tattooing in the process. To achieve a natural, realistic-looking result, it is crucial that the process is followed, and multiple sessions take place. The best way to avoid anything going wrong after scalp micropigmentation is by carefully following the aftercare procedure. Here is a breakdown of the process.

Miami Scalp Micropigmentation Consultation

To start, you will have personal consultation so the technician can see the extent of your hair loss and how they can help you achieve your desired look. If you cannot attend the studio, you may do it through a phone or online video chat, although it is always best to do it face to face. The consultation is to help men and women have a complete understanding of the treatment and what results will come from the treatment. The procedure could be a full head of replicated follicles, density treatment, or scar or alopecia camouflage. If you need your hairline restored, we will consider your hairline preference and discuss what style better suits you. Lastly, we will develop a plan of action to identify the steps needed to achieve your desired goals and book you in for your first scalp micropigmentation session.

First SMP Session

The first session usually lasts longer than any other session. Depending on the extent of treatment you require depends on how the session starts and how long it will take. If you are getting your hairline restored, we will draw this on before we start the procedure. Pigment color is significant when it comes to scalp micropigmentation treatments. It is a carbon-based pigment diluted with distilled water to get the right shade to match your hair color and skin tone. The more water in the pigment, the lighter the pigment will appear in the skin. Once the color is prepared, and all essential health and safety procedures are in place, the procedure can begin. A numbing ointment is usually applied to ensure you experience as little discomfort as possible. The pigment is implanted into the skin’s upper dermal layer using microneedles attached to a particular handheld machine. With your first visit, you will be leaving with a layout for your following sessions. The day after your first treatment, you can expect your scalp to look a bit red; this is entirely normal and should subside within the first few days.

Second Session of Scalp Micropigmentation

During this session, your hairline will officially be created, and you will begin to achieve your desired look. The technician will blend fresh microdots with the dots from the first session; this will give you a realistic-looking hairline. We will then add density to the scalp by adding more pigment layers and filling in areas that may require more detail. The pigment is usually slightly darker than the original session, creating a more in-depth, 3-D look. This session will not take anywhere near the amount of time the first one did.

If you prefer to achieve a darker result or the technician believes they can improve the look by adding more pigment, then a third session will take place., maybe more. The last few touches are made to ensure you walk out with your completed scalp micropigmentation look in the final sessions. These should not take any longer than around 30 minutes. Please keep in mind that aftercare and healing are a vital part of the scalp micropigmentation process. If not followed correctly, your final results may be affected.
